The interpreters’ eligibility depends on various factors, the most important is the level of interpreting (priority will be given to advanced students). Language combination shall be made up as follows: one of the EU official languages (or Icelandic, Turkish, Croatian) as A language, English as B language, C languages are welcomed but not necessary. As the Mother Tongue Sessions will be a pillar of MEU 2012, English as B language is a prerequisite for relay interpreting. Candidates must upload two letters of reference to certify their interpreting skills, one for interpreting skills from English into their mother tongue and one from their mother tongue into English. Finally, candidates must upload a motivation letter including information about motivation, level of interpreting, previous degrees, interpreting experience, expectations about MEU and the reasons for participating (the text should be between 500 – 1000 words).
