The interpreters’ eligibility depends on various factors; the most important one is the level of interpreting skills (priority will be given to advanced students). Language combination shall be made up as follows: one of the EU official languages (or Icelandic, Turkish, or Croatian) as A language, English as B language; C languages are welcome but not obligatory. As the Mother Tongue Sessions will be a pillar of MEU 2013, English as B language is a prerequisite for relay interpreting. Candidates aged between 18 and 26 years old must upload two reference letters to certify their interpreting skills - one for interpreting skills from English into their mother tongue and one from their mother tongue into English. Finally, candidates must upload a motivation letter including information about motivation, level of interpreting, previous degrees, interpreting experience, expectations about MEU and the reasons for applying (the text should be between 500 – 1000 words).
